Completed Projects - People empowerment

The following completed projects and projects in progress illustrate the depth of empowerment expertise of the company:

  • Curriculum development. LearnCorp developed the middle management curriculum for the Imperial Logistics management development programme as well as developing and presenting the Buscor Management Development programme.  
  • LearnCorp has run numerous learnerships in the Nationsal Certificate: Road Transport (NQF level 3), as well as in the FET Certificate: Road Transport Supervision, as well as a wide variety of skills programmes from both of these qualifications in botht the road passenger as well as in the road freight industries
  • Outcomes based support. LearnCorp has provided extensive internal and external moderation services to training providers and has trained more than 100 assessors in outcomes-based training
  • Assistance to providers seeking Accreditation. LearnCorp has guided a number of private as well as in-house training providers towards accreditation with various SETAs
  • New Venture Creation (NVC). LearnCorp has presented a number of learnerships and skills programmes towards the New Venture Creation qualification.
  • Programme development.  Programmes comprising over 100 unit standards, as well as three full qualifcations, have been developed and accredited with 4 SETAs. These programmes, which are run on an individual unit standard basis, or as integrated learning programmes in which two or more unit standards are integrated into a single programme, include:
    • All NQF level 2, level 3 and level 4 fundamental numeracy and literacy unit standards
    • Management and supervision unit standards at NQF levels 3, 4 and 5
    • A variety of customer relations programmes at NQF levels 3, 4 and 5
    • Basic labour relations and legislation, as well as instituting disciplinary action and chairing disciplinary hearings
    • A variety of Occupational Health, safety and environmental protection programmes
    • A variety of HIV and AIDS awareness programmes
    • A variety of road passenegr and road freight programmes including the most comprehensive scheduling programme on the market, transporting freight and passnegers, fleet management, securing vehicle loads and many more
    • Time management and self development
    • Applying operating procedures and practices
    • Mentoring and coaching
    • Basic business principles, financial management and budgeting
    • Managing strategy and work teams
    • Driving unit standards for light rigid vehicle, heavy rigid vehicles and vehicle combination
  • Development programmes for Bus operators include the following very comprehensive training programmes for which there are no unit standards:
    • Despatch a bus service
    • Regulate a bus service
    • Carry out bus inspections
    • Schedule a bus service
    • Corporate governance and social rsponsibility in the bus industry
